Paulista: "We have to take away all of the good things that we did, and also look at the things that we did badly in order to improve them"

Gabriel Paulista scored the equaliser for Valencia CF against Real Sociedad, and the defender spoke after the game to give his thoughts on the match and the performance from the team.
The second half reaction
"It could have been a better game. Real Sociedad are a very good side, so are we, and all sorts of things happened. In the first half we missed a penalty and they made it 0-2. The atmosphere in the dressing room was sad because of the first half, and the coach helped us a lot. He told us that we had the team to show more, and that was what happened. We got the equaliser, but the sending off made things more difficult. Now we have to keep going and focus on the next game."
Overcoming adversity
"Maxi Gómez was sent off, and he is a very important player for us because he never gives up on a single ball. We weren't bringing the ball out well from the back, and we were looking for long passes upfield to Maxi. That made things difficult in that sense. We have to take away all of the good things that we did, and also look at the things that we did badly in order to improve them. I accept my mistake, and it is something that we need to learn from for the next game. We need to look for the energy that we have at home and show it in our away games as well. There are many games remaining and we can still achieve our main target, which is to get into the European spots."
Focusing on the next game
"In football, anything can happen. There are days in which nothing works out for you, in which you misplace simple passes and in which everything works out badly. This was a game in which I was very down in the first half, because I made a mistake with a pass that cost us a goal. Then I was shown a yellow card that ruled me out of the next game, and committed a foul that could have seen me booked a second time. The goal was like me bringing out all of that bad energy that I had inside. Now we have to rest. I won't be able to play in the next game, but I will be cheering the side on and we will be fighting for the three points."
